ORSAPS - Oman Road Safety & Accident Prevention Summit is a significant and essential event in the Sultanate of Oman, taking place from 15 - 18 October 2025 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The Event aspires to identify and analyze Traffic and Road Safety challenges in Oman with an unwavering dedication to foster a culture of traffic safety and elevating road safety awareness.
The aim of the event is to improve understanding among key players and stakeholders on how the latest technological advancements, innovative road safety solutions and implementing proven strategies can substantially reduce road accidents.
The Event plays a pivotal role in supporting organizations’ mission to enhance road safety compliance and aligning with their ambition - Goal Zero.
ORSAPS aligns with Oman’s
‘TRAFFIC SAFETY DAY’ held annually on 18 October.
5 E's of Road Safety
The most well-known remedial measures for road safety improvement are based on the ‘5 Es’ with an additional ‘2 Cs’ recommended namely ‘Coordination and Cooperation’ need to be applied together in order to reduce accidents.

The Event encompasses a series of awareness initiatives and extensive campaigns. A number of activities, competitions, workshops and programs aimed at enhancing traffic safety and encouraging motorists to abide by traffic laws will be held during the Exhibition.
By combining innovative technology, immersive experiences and interactive games, the Event endeavors to pass the message of shared responsibility in creating a safe and tolerant road environment.
The Event will not only be informative but also impactful in promoting road safety awareness and the adoption of safe driving practices to the general public.

I serve as the Head of the Road Safety Section at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology in the Sultanate of Oman. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and play a leading role in advancing road safety procedures across national projects. My work focuses on ensuring that contractors comply with safety requirements and coordinating with consultants to implement Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards. I am fully committed to fostering a "safety-first" culture and continuously improving safety practices at project sites.

Lotte Brondum, Executive Director of the Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety since 2014, leads a network of 415 NGOs across 100+ countries working to halve road deaths and injuries by 2030. She has developed key road safety guidelines, campaigns, and advocacy initiatives, and authored several publications.
In May 2025, she received an Honorary Doctorate from Hasselt University for her work mobilizing NGOs for road safety. With extensive experience in NGOs, academia, corporate, and government sectors across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, Lotte holds advanced degrees in Medical Anthropology, Epidemiology, and Nursing Science.

Dr. Picardi leads the European Federation of Driving Schools (EFA). At global level, Dr. Picardi designs training curricula, both for drivers, professional drivers and driving instructors. The most significant road safety activities were in the GCC area, the Basic Life Support project and then several initiatives for the training curricula standardization. As a recognized road safety expert, Dr. Picardi takes part in international events like UNECE WP.1, DG Move meeting and ETSC events. First holding degrees in Political Sciences, then in Education, he earned a PhD in Civil Engineering with a focus on innovative training for novice drivers.

National Coordinator for the 5th global status report on road safety.
Under the supervision of WHO Regional Office, coordinates the data of the Sultanate of Oman in the World Report on Road Safety, in cooperation with the Royal Oman Police and other relevant institutions such as the Ministry of Transport and the National Centre for Statistics and Information. The Sultanate of Oman has participated in all editions of the World Report since 2009.
Represented the Ministry of Health in the Gulf Traffic Week 2024 exhibition, where awareness presentations were given on chronic diseases and road safety, as well as on the effect of some medications on driver awareness and concentration.
Attends and participates in many international workshops on road safety:
- Participation in a consultation on the regional approach to the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021–2030, March 14–16, 2023, Cairo, Egypt
- Participation in a workshop entitled "Gulf Countries, the Costs of Traffic Accidents, and Weaknesses in the Traffic System" on March 20, 2024, and presentation on the Sultanate's status in road safety
- Participation in a workshop organized by the World Health Organization entitled “Improving Road Safety Data” during the period from May 13 to 16, 2024 in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
- Participation in a workshop on developing a road safety strategy in the Arab Gulf countries during the period from May 21–22, 2024 in Riyadh, organized by the Gulf Centre for Disease Control and Prevention

Stefano Ammirati is the Director for Road Safety & Global Advocacy for the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the governing body for world motor sport and the federation of the world’s leading motoring & mobility organizations. In his current role, he supervises the FIA global advocacy strategy, advocating for more than 80 million members from national clubs throughout the world on three priority areas: road safety, sustainable & accessible mobility for all. Prior to joining the FIA, Stefano spent 13 years of his career with the World Economic Forum, in charge of the strategic agenda for the Transportation & Logistics sector as well as for the Automotive sector. He holds a master’s in international relations from the Graduate Institute of International Relations in Geneva.

Nneka Henry is the Head of the UN Road Safety Fund Secretariat where she leads its work on portfolio management, fundraising, strategic partnerships and global advocacy. Since February 2024, Ms Henry has been acting Head of the Office of the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Road Safety.
Before joining the Fund on 1 May 2021, she worked for more than 15 years building multi-sector alliances, implementing multi-country projects, managing high-level events and influencing policy change at the United Nations, World Trade Organization and World Health Organization.
She holds a Master of Laws from the University of Melbourne in Australia and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of the West Indies in Jamaica.
